The Illinois Department of Transportation will close U.S. 51 in Du Quoin between Park Street and North Street starting Tuesday, July 8, for pavement replacement work.
The closure, expected to last about 30 days, will redirect local traffic to Maple Street. Truck traffic will be detoured west using Illinois 152, Illinois 13/127, and Illinois 154.
Drivers are urged to follow detour signs, obey speed limits, avoid distractions, and stay alert for workers and equipment in the area.
