SIU Professors Antonio Martinez and Bob Baer created an art exhibit for the upcoming Solar Eclipse on April 8. The exhibit will be open to the public next week through the eclipse date at Artspace 304 in Carbondale.

The installation includes multiple cultural interpretations of eclipses throughout different points in history, while discussing the modern science behind them.

Chuck Benya, the CEO and Executive Director of Artspace 304, says quote, "Passing Into Shadow is about intersections, community, and collaboration."

Artspace 304 has a series of events planned including talks discussing space science and history, concerts, and art projects geared towards children.

The events and exhibit are funded by the Simons Foundation and Banterra Bank. The public reception to celebrate the exhibit opening is from 1 to 4 p.m on Saturday, January 27, with regular gallery hours being Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.
