The SIU football game against SEMO is being delayed a week.
The game, originally scheduled for October 23, will move to October 30.
SIU Head Coach Nick Hill says it gives each team time to get better prepared.
"I think the uniqueness of this game allows us a little bit of flexibility to give both sides the opportunity to be at their best and practice is paramount."
Hill says his team and staff are getting tested for COVID-19 each week and the last round resulted in one positive out of 130 tests.
"We got to keep being dilligent. You're not only facing your own opponent, but you're facing the COVID opponent too. That's every team in the country."
Seating capacity for the game will be limited to 20 percent. SIU Director of Athletics Liz Jarnigan says tickets will be available to season-ticket holders, SIU students and player families only.
Tailgating will not be permitted, and fans will be required to wear a facial covering upon entering the stadium. It can be removed while eating or drinking.
All season-ticket accounts as of October 13 will receive tickets to the game. Students have until October 23 to request tickets on-line.
