Former SIU men's basketball standouts Marcus Domask and Lance Jones made their one season in the Big Ten conference count.
Marcus Domask has been named 1st team all Big Ten and the conference's Newcomer of the Year after his regular season at Illinois where he averaged 16 points, second best on the team, and 3.5 assists per game to lead the Illini.
Lance Jones was named to the honorable mention all Big Ten squad after his season at Purdue where he was the Boilermakers' 3rd leading scorer at 12.4 points per game. He led the team with 68 made 3-point baskets.
Purdue is the top seed and Illinois the number 2 seed in the Big Ten Conference tournament this week.
Domask and Jones will make their first appearances in the NCAA Tournament starting next week.
