The Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice will soon host an employment screening event to fill a position at the youth center in Harrisburg.

The Juvenile Justice Specialist Intern position is a full-time, year-round, shift-work position.

The I-D-J-J says the position has a starting salary of $65,000 dollars and interested applicants must attend an upcoming required screening event to be considered.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and be eligible to work in the United States. Candidates without a bachelor’s degree must have a high school diploma and two or more years of experience providing direct care to youth in the form of residential care, coaching, case management, or mentoring.

The Harrisburg Youth Center screening event will be held February 13 starting at 8 a.m. The I-D-J-J says it will last 4 to 6 hours.

Applicants should complete an online application at least five days prior to the February 13 screening. You can find the full list of documents needed to be brought to the screening by clicking here.
