Night in Bethlehem
Join us for this Live Interactive Christmas event as you tour the Little Town of Bethlehem and experience the retelling of the birth of the Jesus. This is a free community event for all ages on December 14th and 15th from 4 – 7 pm at Murdale Baptist Church. There are guided tours of the Marketplace of Bethlehem that last approximately 45 minutes. We hope you will join us and take some time to reflect on the real meaning of the season.
South District Elks Free Children's Orthopedic Clinic


The South District Elks Lodges in cooperation with the Illinois Elks Children’s Care Corporation will sponsor a Free children’s orthopedic assessment clinic on Friday January 17, 2025. The clinic is from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and is by appointment only. To make an appointment call the Illinois Elks Children’s Care office at 800-272-0074 between the hours of 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. There are no charges for any services at this clinic. No medical referral is necessary for the clinic. The clinic is an ideal time to have a child reviewed for bone and joint development.
The Elks will hold the clinic at the Marshall Browning Hospital, 900 North Washington Street, Du Quoin. Dr. Alan Froehling from Mount Vernon will be the clinician.
General John A Logan Museum Christmas Stroll
The Logan Museum Christmas Stroll features music by Murphysboro's Crimson Express, Murphysboro High School's Madrigal singers, Christmas craft activities for all ages, puppet show, Christmas Gnome Game, blacksmith demonstrations, Christmas tree and wreath silent auction benefitting local non-profits, art vendors, tours of the historic Dalton House, holiday house tours of local historic homes and refreshments including mulled wine within the museum.
SIU Holiday Craft Sale
Join us for the 46th Annual SIU Holiday Art & Craft Sale at the SIU Student Center. This three-day sale will occur on Thursday, December 5, and Friday, December 6, 10 AM—5 PM, and Saturday, December 7, 10 AM—4 PM. Shop locally made goods from 80 artists and craftspeople working in media such as clay, fibers, drawing, glass, painting, woodworking, jewelry, home and holiday decor, and more. The sale also includes various student groups. Shop local and handmade this holiday season!
