After 7 years as a food desert, the City of Cairo this week welcomes a new grocery option with healthy and nutritious food.

The Rise Community Market will hold its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony this Friday, June 16 at 10:00am.

The market is a co-op model and was completed with funding through memberships, shareholders, and grants from the University of Illinois, and Builder’s Initiative.
