Public housing authorities throughout southern Illinois are receiving federal money to build, renovate, and modernize the public housing in their communities.
The funding through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Capital Fund Program will distribute money to housing authorities ranging from just under $125,000 in Edwards County up to over $2.6 million in Jackson County.
In all, more than two dozen locations in the region received some of HUD's Capital Fund Program money.
