A man who has had leadership roles in politics, higher education and his own foundation to help abused children is now jumping in to help the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois.

Glenn Poshard has announced he is volunteering to chair the fundraising effort to help the organization operate efficiently and effectively before the new school year starts in August.

The Club closed last summer. Earlier this year, Board Chair Russell Williams said the Club is committed to focusing on opening the Carbondale Club at a new site at First United Methodist Church of Carbondale...reopening the Marion Club at the same location on Main Street

Poshard calls the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois essential to the area. He added it provides the necessary support to families and the education and health care communities to help children reach their full potential.
