A day of protests on June 14 will accompany President Donald Trump's military parade in Washington, D.C. that supporters say is intended to celebrate the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday.
But, those who believe the event is a made-for-TV display of dominance for Trump's birthday and a spectacle meant to look like strength are planning what they say is a nationwide day of defiance called No Kings.
From city blocks to small towns, from courthouse steps to community parks, they say they're taking action to reject authoritarianism—and show the world what democracy really looks like.
No Kings rallies are being held on June 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Carbondale Civic Center and Freedom Corner at Capaha Park in Cape Girardeau.
