The President & CEO of Southern Illinois Healthcare has been elected to the Board of Trustees for the Illinois Health and Hospital Association.
John Antes’ three-year term began on January 1.
The IHA Board is the policymaking body for the Association, which represents more than 200 hospitals and nearly 40 health systems across Illinois.
As president and CEO of SIH, Antes leads a four-hospital system including the region’s only Level II Trauma Center, open-heart surgery program, birthing center, special care nursery, inpatient pediatric unit and comprehensive cancer center. SIH Prairie Heart Institute is nationally ranked for heart attack care. The organization also holds quality honors for heart failure, stroke and bariatric surgery.
SIH is the region’s largest private employer.
