Chicago Man Arrested for Possible Attempted Child Abduction in Carbondale

A Chicago man has been arrested for a possible attempt to abduct a child at University Mall in Carbondale.

Police say 23-year-old Argenis Hernandez of Chicago is charged with Stalking and Disorderly Conduct.
Officers say at around 4 p.m. Sunday, Hernandez is accused of following victims and an infant child inside
Macy's Department Store and attempted to photograph or record them with a cell phone.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Carbondale Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (618) 549-COPS.
