Cape Girardeau Man Arrested for Involvement in Carbondale Murder Investigation

A Cape Girardeau man has been arrested on charges of Concealing or Aiding a Fugitive related to the death of Keon Cooper in Carbondale earlier this month.

Carbondale Police say 30-year-old Thomas Durrell Evans, Jr. is currently in the Cape Girardeau County Jail awaiting extradition to southern Illinois.

On November 7th, southeast Missouri authorities arrested 21-year-old Tyren Johnson of Sikeston for charges of Murder related to Cooper’s death. Johnson is currently in the Scott County Missouri Jail awaiting extradition to southern Illinois.

Carbondale Police Detectives also obtained an arrest warrant for 24-year-old Olando Sheron of Sikeston for charges of Murder. He has not been located and is considered armed and dangerous.

The fatal shooting incident occurred early in the morning of November 3rd in the 500 block of South Illinois Avenue.
