The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced a temporary closure of a portion of Old Illinois 13 for drainage structure replacement work.
Starting at 7 p.m. Friday, July 18, a short segment of Old Illinois 13 just east of the Illinois 148 intersection will be closed to all traffic. The closure is expected to remain in effect until 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19.
Access to residences within the closure area will be maintained. However, motorists should anticipate delays and are strongly encouraged to seek alternate routes.
IDOT reminds drivers to slow down, stay alert for changing conditions, follow all posted signage, and avoid using mobile devices while traveling through the construction zone.
