Illinois State Police make an arrest for weapons, methamphetamine, and fentanyl

One person is in custody on charges related to the possession of weapons and illegal drugs.

The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation arrested 38-year-old Mitra Tyson of Metropolis for Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Violence, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Ecstasy with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Fentanyl with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Psilocybin Mushrooms with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver.

On Thursday, agents with the ISP and Southern Illinois Drug Task Force executed a residential search warrant in the 300 block of West 10th Street. It resulted in the recovery of 900 grams of cannabis, 302 grams of fentanyl pills, more than 90 grams of mushrooms, more than 1,250 grams of crystal methamphetamine, more than 120 grams of Ecstasy, and three loaded handguns.

Tyson was taken into custody without incident at a local business. He is being held at the Massac County Jail.
