A fight in Carbondale, involving a firearm, has led to the arrest of a Metro East man

A Metro East man has been arrested after an incident this past weekend in Carbondale.

Just before 3 a.m. on Saturday, Carbondale Police officers responded to the 900 block of East Park Street. They learned there had been a fight in which someone was beaten.

During the fight, a firearm was discharged. There was a large social gathering in the area. No one was injured as a result of the gunshot.

Officers arrested 24-year-old Jose Rojas-Villa of Collinsville for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, and Battery.
