Petitions were submitted this week

Four people have filed petitions to be the next Mayor of Carbondale, and it appears Mayor Mike Henry won't seek re-election.

Petitions for next April's election were due Monday, and mayoral candidates include: Current Mayor Pro Tem Carolin Harvey, Nathan Columbo, Harold Visser, and current Councilman Lee Fronabarger.

Meanwhile, seven people filed petitions to run for the three seats up for grabs on the city council. Current council members Adam Loos, Lee Fronabarger, and Tom Grant are all seeking re-election. They face challengers Clare Killman, Justin Zurlinden, Nancy Maxwell, and Joshua Dalton Liechty.

The municipal election is set for April fourth.
