Construction will begin Friday on Interstate 57 in Union County.
IDOT says starting at noon, all traffic on I-57 from south of the Illinois 146 interchange at mile marker 30 to mile mark 26 just north of the Dongola interchange will be shifted to the northbound lanes.
Traffic will be down to one lane of in each direction as crews work on a new bridge.
Work is expected to be last until November.
