The Illinois Department of Human Services has placed two Murray Developmental Center employees on leave, after a resident there died earlier this week.
Acting DHS Secretary Gregory Bassi issued a statement Thursday, saying he was saddened to learn of the resident's death at the Centralia facility on March 30.
The agency referred the incident to the Office of the Inspector General, and that investigation's findings have now been referred to State Police.
Bassi says two Murray Center staff members are now on administrative leave.
