The Illinois Department of Transportation is conducting a study and is encouraging public input on the proposed Shawnee Parkway, which would run from Paducah Kentucky to Cape Girardeau Missouri. Through March 15th, 2016, the public is able to go online and comment on the projects. The website is:

A study on a similar multi-state highway was conducted several years ago, but was discontinued after Kentucky dropped out of the project. In this feature, we hear from IDOT's Carrie Nelson and from Union County resident, retired urban planner David Shaffer.
