Sujan Shrestha, an associate professor at the University of Baltimore who is known for his research on teaching through games and interactive digital technology, will deliver the University Honors Program Charles D. Tenney Distinguished Lecture next month at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
Shrestha’s lecture, “Touchy-Feely: The Power of Interdisciplinary Approaches to Math, Art and Science,” is at 6 p.m. Feb. 6 in Morris Library’s John C. Guyon Auditorium. Admission is free, and the public is invited. A reception will follow. Registration to watch the program is also available via Zoom.
Hiking with Shawn
Southern Illinois has a wide range of hiking possibilities and there are always new trails to discover. Feb 25th at 1pm you can Join Hiking with Shawn, Local Shawnee Forest fanatic, as he discusses what to wear, gear, apps to use, tips for the trail and hiking trails you might be unfamiliar with! Taste of Chocolate
The Survivor Empowerment Center (formerly the Women’s Center)
Is hosting their biggest fundraiser of the year to support advocacy, a shelter, and help for victims of domestic violence and abuse. The Annual Taste of Chocolate event will be held at Garden Grove Event Center on Saturday, February 10th from 6 to 9 pm.
