In Anna, VFW Post 3455 is having a Jeep Luau on June 22nd. The Jeep Poker run is at 11am and will end back at the VFW for the Luau Party at 5pm. Everyone is welcome and you don’t have to attend the Jeep Run to attend the Luau. There will be a pig roast, music and karaoke. Call the Anna VFW for more information.
The Vandalia Statehouse State Historic Site will host the annual Grand Levee, an annual celebration of the grand receptions held during the 1800s to honor government dignitaries and important visitors, will take place Saturday, June 15.
The event, which features an entire day of activities and entertainment, is free and open to the public. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. on the lawn of the Vandalia Statehouse with period arts and crafts demonstrations, including blacksmithing, pottery, wood and leather workers, wool spinning and more.
Marion Carnegie Library offers activities for all ages. Each Saturday at 1pm, a featured film is offered to “Tweens” ages 8 to 12 in the Tween Zone of the Children’s Department. This event is free and no library card is required.
