Saluki athletics historian Fred Huff passes away

One of the foremost authorities on the history of SIU Saluki athletics passed away this past weekend.

Former SIU Sports Information Director Fred Huff died Saturday at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. He was 94.

Huff spent 35 years in Saluki Athletics and was a member of the 2001 Saluki Hall of Fame class.

Huff's obituary indicates a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin on Friday, March 24 at 10 a.m. Visitation will be at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin on Thursday, March 23 from 5-8 p.m.
