Rebecca Kagarais with the SIU-Carbondale School of Forestry offers eclipse visitors a chance to fill out a survey about their experience.

For the second time in less than seven years, we’ve experienced a total solar eclipse in southern Illinois.

Visitors came to Carbondale from different parts of the U.S. and the world.

The School of Forestry at SIU-Carbondale had a table at the Crossroads Astronomy Science and Technology Expo inside Banterra Center Monday.

WSIU's Brad Palmer talked with the school’s Rebecca Kagaris about a social survey the department had people fill out to learn some information about who came to the area to view the eclipse.

As a news producer and news anchor on All Things Considered, Brad provides the listeners with a recap of the day's top local and state news as well as breaking news at any given time. Contact WSIU Radio at 618-453-6101 or email wsiunews@wsiu.org
