One current and two former Salukis prepare to compete in the Paris Olympics

Three current or former Saluki female athletes are getting ready to compete at the Summer Olympics in Paris.

Deanna Price will make her third Olympic appearance in the women's hammer throw. She is trying to become the first American woman to medal in that event ever.

Another former Saluki, Raven Saunders, will also make her third appearance in the Games in the women's shot put for Team USA.

And current Saluki swimmer Celia Pulido will make her Olympic debut in Paris competing for Team Mexico.

Pulido will be the first compete. Her first event is this Monday, when she will swim in Heat 3 of the women's 100-meter backstroke.

Price will start in the preliminary round of the hammer throw on Sunday, August 4. The final round is August 6.

Saunders will compete in the shot put qualification round on August 8 with the final round set for August 9.
