SIU System President Dan Mahony talks with us about the current state of the governing body, especially in light of the 2.8 billion-dollar U.S. House settlement that ended the NCAA’s amateurism model. Schools now have a $20.5 million dollar salary cap to pay their student-athletes.

WSIU's Brad Palmer started by asking Mahony how the settlement is impacting the SIU-Carbondale and Edwardsville athletic departments.

As a news producer and news anchor on All Things Considered, Brad provides the listeners with a recap of the day's top local and state news as well as breaking news at any given time. Contact WSIU Radio at 618-453-6101 or email wsiunews@wsiu.org
