Adam Loker, of Wayne City, took first place in Illinois Farm Bureau's Collegiate Discussion Meet on November 1st.
Loker is a junior at Southern Illinois University and a member of both the Wayne County Farm Bureau and the Southern Illinois University Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter.
20 students competed in the meet at IFB's office in Bloomington.
The IFB Collegiate Discussion Meet judges contestants' ability to manage small group discussions. Participants work to solve a pre-determined topic and are scored on their problem solving and implementation, analysis of the topic, and cooperative attitude and delivery.
Loker will go on to represent Illinois in the national Collegiate Meet at IFB's FUSION Conference in Denver, Colorado at the beginning of March.
