Southern Illinois University’s Paul Simon Public Policy Institute will host Francis J. Gavin, director of the Henry Kissinger Center for Global Affairs at Johns Hopkins University, for a virtual conversation on September 24. Gavin will discuss his new book, Thinking Historically — A Guide to Statecraft and Strategy, with institute director John Shaw. The event begins at 10 a.m. on Zoom and is free to the public with registration required. Gavin, a noted historian and policy expert, has taught at Harvard, MIT, and the University of Texas. The program is part of the institute’s “Understanding Our New World” series. Registration is available at paulsimoninstitute.org/events.
