The Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois kicked off their fundraising campaign to support opening a site in Marion.
For the last two years the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois have been working to open a site in Marion.
In January they purchased a church on the west side of Marion to renovate it into a new site.
CEO Tina Carpenter says so far they’ve raised 68% of their $400,000 goal to cover operating cost for one year.
“It cost us $389.15 a year to support one club member, so that’s less than 32 a month so anyone can provide support whether it is for a month or for half a year or a year, no donation is too small to serve the kids in Williamson County.”

The target date for opening the Marion site is June 7th.
