SIU's Board of Trustees will take another step on the path to naming a new President this week as the Executive Committee is expected to name the outside firm they'll hire to conduct the search.
In addition to that vote, which is expected on Wednesday, the Board has also begun a survey of faculty and staff. That questionnaire asks employees their opinion on needs and challenges on each campus, and what a new President will likely face when that person is hired. Chairman Randal Thomas has said he wants to get plenty of input during the search process, and hopes to have a new President named before current CEO Glenn Poshard retires next summer.
