The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) is gearing up to host the third annual State of Illinois Vendor Summit, designed to empower businesses with tools, resources, and networking opportunities to engage in state contracting.
This event offers a comprehensive platform for businesses to explore upcoming contracting opportunities with state agencies and universities.
Attendees will have access to industry experts, workshops, and training sessions that will cover key aspects of state procurement and contracting processes.
A highlight of the summit is its focus on promoting diversity and inclusion in the state’s vendor pool. Special attention is given to small, minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned businesses, as well as firms owned by individuals with disabilities.
Through workshops and training, businesses will learn essential strategies for improving their Request for Proposal (RFP) responsiveness and crafting effective Business Enterprise Program (BEP) Utilization Plans, which are key elements to securing contracts with the state.
This initiative reflects Illinois' broader commitment to ensuring equitable access to contracting opportunities for all businesses, especially those traditionally underrepresented in state contracts.
The summit also provides an opportunity to meet representatives from various state agencies and universities, creating a pathway for long-term partnerships.
The event will take place on October 17, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the CMS Regional Complex in Springfield, Illinois.
