Williamson County Courthouse Finalizes Adoptions for 30 Children during National Adoption Day Celebration

In honor of National Adoption Day, the adoption of thirty children in foster care will be finalized tomorrow morning at the Williamson County Courthouse in Marion.

In honor of National Adoption Day, the adoption of thirty children in foster care will be finalized tomorrow morning. Judge Amanda Byasse Gott, Illinois DCFS, and private agency staff will begin them at 9 a.m. at the Williamson County Courthouse in Marion.

National Adoption Day is held annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. It is a national effort to raise awareness for youth in the foster care system.

There are currently more than two thousand children in the state's system. DCFS offers a range of resources to adoptive families, including reimbursement for legal costs, a monthly subsidy, a medical card, and more.
