In a recent interview, Representative Paul Jacobs summarized what has happened at the Springfield capitol in the past week.

He discussed the status of proposed bills relating to the second amendment and funding for veteran support facilities.

He encouraged residents to sign a petition toward state education initiatives and protections against "government intrusion" in homeschooling.

"We want to hear from you for all the big issues we're dealing with. I want you all to sign the petitions we have... There are 2000 students and parents here posing government regulations in education choice in Illinois."

Jacobs also advocated for parents to be notified when a minor receives an abortion, a redirection in funding that originally went toward undocumented immigrants, an end to Illinois' sanctuary state laws, and eliminating property tax for disabled seniors.

"We have a lot of impoverished people who need help. Three billion dollars, we would've had to spend on our people. We also want to eliminate the property tax on disabled seniors. I don't understand, if you're disabled and having to pay property taxes, that seems to be a rather bad idea."
