The Illinois State Fair is rolling out new security protocols to ensure a safe experience for visitors. Prohibited items include firearms, weapons, illegal substances, drones, fireworks, and flammable materials.
Grandstand entrances will feature metal detectors and bag checks, with no backpacks or large bags allowed. Mobile ticket holders are encouraged to download tickets to the Ticketmaster app before arriving.
All drinks at the Grandstand will be opened at purchase, and outside containers are banned. Professional cameras and tripods are also prohibited. The Illinois State Fair runs August 7–17.
