Winter Storm Warning, Winter Weather Advisory blanket Quad State

A mix of precipitation is expected, but difficult driving conditions are likely

Much of the region is bracing for wintry conditions over the next 24 hours or so.

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Winter Storm Warning for areas along and north of a line from Olney to Mount Vernon, into southeast Missouri.

South and east of that line, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect.

Parts of the region could see trace amounts of snow - particularly the closer you get to the Ohio River. Higher totals - up to six inches - are expected near the St. Louis area, and along Interstates 64 and 70.

Slick roads are expected to develop later tonight into tomorrow morning, and gusty winds will make driving even more difficult.

Jennifer Fuller joined Capitol News Illinois in July 2023 as the organization’s broadcast director. She will oversee the launch and operations of CNI’s new broadcast division.
