Bollinger County hit with a deadly tornado

This home in the Glenallen community of Bollinger County, Missouri, was damaged when a tornado struck early on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

Parts of Bollinger County sustained severe damage from a deadly tornado that ripped through the rural area early Wednesday morning.

At least five people were killed in the community of Glenallen and an unknown number of people were injured.

Reports say the Glenallen Fire Station was destroyed, numerous trees and power lines were downed, blocking roads.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports it's on the scene assisting multiple agencies with search and rescue efforts.

The Weather Channel reports the deaths in Bollinger County mean this is the 13th deadly tornado in the U.S. since the March 24 outbreak.
