The Illinois Department of Transportation would like to alert motorists traveling on I-24 in Johnson County of a Ramp Closure that begins today (Monday, March 6) lasting for approximately four weeks.

There will be intermittent ramp closures at Exit 14 and Exit 16. These closures will affect entrance and exit ramps in one direction. Both eastbound and westbound ramps will be open at either Exit 14 or Exit 16 at all times. Message boards will be in place to inform motorists which exit to use.

These closures are necessary to facilitate shoulder improvements on the ramps.

Use alternate routes if needed, reduce speed and use extreme caution while traveling through all work zones. For updates see the traveler information map on the website, GettingAroundIllinois.com
