Southern Illinois University Carbondale Chancellor Austin Lane is a finalist for President of New Mexico State University in Las Cruces.
The New Mexico State Board of Regents announced the list of five finalists, including Lane, on Friday following a special meeting. The finalists were selected from a nationwide pool with the assistance of the Wittkieffer executive search firm.
The next phase of the Presidential search will include campus visits from each candidate beginning later this month.
The other finalists are Michael Galyean, Paul Whitfield Horn Distinguished Professor in the Department of Veterinary Sciences and former Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Texas Tech University; John Volin, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost of the University of Maine; Wayne Jones, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of New Hampshire; and Richard Williams, Former President of Utah Tech University.
Lane became Chancellor at SIU Carbondale on July 1, 2020.
