SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon has unveiled a new bench and flagpole honoring organ and tissue donors, created in partnership with Mid-America Transplant.
The tribute celebrates donor heroes whose selfless gifts have impacted more than 16,000 lives in Southern Illinois. Hospital leaders say the site offers a place of reflection and serves as a powerful symbol of compassion and second chances.
During the dedication, Mid-America Transplant praised SSM Health for its role in providing quality, compassionate care to donor families.
