The 2025 Du Quoin State Fair promises a packed schedule of entertainment, tributes, and community outreach when it opens August 22 and runs through September 1.

Track Entertainment

Harness racing returns to the mile track August 25–27 at 4 p.m. The half-mile track will feature the Sizemore MX Race on August 23–24 at noon, the ITPA Truck & Tractor Pulls on August 25–26 at 7 p.m., and the Demolition Derby on August 30 at 6 p.m. Ticket prices vary by event, with discounts for children and free entry for the youngest spectators.

Veterans and Gold Star Families Day

On Sunday, August 24, the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Agriculture will host Veterans and Gold Star Families Day, celebrating the 250th birthdays of the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. Veterans and their families receive free admission with military ID. The day includes a resource fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., entertainment, a complimentary lunch, and a keynote by retired Air Force Lt. Col. Tara L. Worley, followed by a program honoring Gold Star families.

IDOT Exhibit

The Illinois Department of Transportation will welcome fairgoers at Expo Hall, highlighting job opportunities, including seasonal snow-and-ice removal positions, and ongoing projects funded through the Rebuild Illinois capital program. Staff will also provide help with online applications and information on local infrastructure improvements.Fair InformationAdmission to the fair is free.
