Carbondale Police say a traffic stop Tuesday night led to the arrest of a Cobden man wanted in South Carolina.
Officers stopped 24-year-old Braden Dunbar around 9 p.m. on East Walnut Street and discovered he had an active warrant for criminal sexual conduct. During the arrest, police say they found a firearm and an illegal amount of cannabis. Dunbar is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a weapon by a felon, and possession of adult-use cannabis.
He’s being held in the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
