September is National Preparedness Month, and Southern 7 Health Department is urging families to plan ahead for disasters. From tornadoes and floods to wildfires and pandemics, recent events show the importance of being ready. FEMA says half of Americans still don’t have an emergency plan.
This year’s campaign — Preparedness Starts at Home — highlights steps like knowing your risks, creating a family plan, and building an emergency supply kit. Southern 7 also encourages residents to get involved through CPR and First Aid training, volunteering with its Medical Reserve Corps, or joining local preparedness events.
