Carbondale, IL – SIU's new football home will be known as Saluki Stadium when the season opens in September.
The University Board of Trustees is schedule to act on the naming request at its July 8th meeting. SIU officials say the naming opportunity remains a valuable piece of fund raising inventory; however, negotiations with a benefactor have not been completed.
The SIU Athletics website says naming rights for the stadium is available for ten-million dollars. Other areas of the stadium are available for one million dollars including the scoreboard, press-box and the south west stadium entrance.
The Salukis home opener is on September 2nd against Quincy.
