Murder Victim's Sister Released

By AP

Pinckneyville, IL – A southern Illinois teen accused of lying to investigators about her runaway sister's killing is free on reduced bond.

Eighteen-year-old Dakota Wall of Pinckneyville was released to her grandparents' custody after her bond was halved to $25,000.

Perry County prosecutors last week charged Wall with obstructing justice. Investigators say she falsely told investigators that she had no knowledge about the circumstance surrounding the killing of her sister, 15-year-old Sidnee Stephens of Pinckneyville.

Stephens had been missing for nearly a week when her body was found in July in Beaucoup Creek.

Three other teens are accused in Stephens' death.
