Benton, IL – Former Cairo resident and NBA player Tyrone Nesby will have to pay nearly $1 million in back child support after a federal judge sentenced him for failure to pay.
Nesby pleaded guilty to the charges involving children in Illinois, Indiana and Nevada. At his sentencing, the judge recommended Nesby speak to underprivileged children about his experiences and the importance of family... in addition to his payments.
Nesby graduated from Cairo High School and the University of Nevada Las Vegas before joining the NBA's LA Clippers in 1998. He also played for the Washington Wizards before retiring several years ago.
