A Wayne County Sheriff's deputy was found dead early Wednesday morning at the scene of where he assisted a motorist along Interstate 64.
Sheriff Chris Otey says Deputy Sean Riley was found dead after another officer arrived on the scene. Riley’s squad car was missing from the scene and then found abandoned on Interstate 64.
The Indiana State Police are reporting a suspect is in custody. Authorities stress this is an ongoing and evolving investigation.
