The Peace Coalition of Southern Illinois will hold its Monthly Peace and Justice Vigil on Saturday, June 4 in Carbondale.
The coalition will pray for sensible gun violence prevention since guns are now the leading cause of death of children in the U.S.
Members say over 60 percent of Americans support an assault weapons ban and strengthened universal background checks.
The vigil will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at the corner of Main and Illinois Avenue in Carbondale.
