SIU Alum DeAnna Price continues to shatter records on the national stage.
DeAnna Price became the first woman to break 26-meters in the US Track and Field Indoor Championships this weekend. The 20-pound weight throw set a world best, and lands Price back in elite territory after injuries hampered her bid for the Olympics two years ago.
The 26.02-meter throw was 17 centimeters further than the previous world best. Price said in an interview she'd set a new personal record with a 25-pound throw earlier in the week, and hoped for good things in the competition.
The feat pushed Price further up on the all-time performer list, where she had been ranked eighth earlier in the championship.
