A duo from southern Illinois captures a Bassmaster high school fishing tournament title in Alabama

Two high schoolers from Century High School in Ullin hold their championship trophy from the Bassmaster High School Series Tournament in Alabama

A southern Illinois high school duo has won a Bassmaster tournament in Alabama.

The organization reports Trevor Wilburn and Kagen Hill from Century High School in Ullin won the Strike King Bassmaster High School Series on Saturday.

Their fish catch total of 19 pounds, five ounces was nearly four pounds more than their nearest competitors in the tournament, which attracted more than 200 teams from 12 states.

Wilburn and Hill have earned a spot in the Strike King Bassmaster High School Series Championship to be scheduled for later this year.
