The Illinois Department of Employment Security reports the unemployment rate increased one tenth of a percent to 4.7 percent, while non-farm payrolls increased by 68-hundred in November.
In November, the industry sectors with the largest over-the-month job gains included Manufacturing, Educational and Health Services (+3,800) and Other Services. The industry sectors with monthly payroll job declines included Professional and Business Services and Information.
The state’s unemployment rate was one percentage point higher than the national unemployment rate reported for November. The national unemployment rate was 3.7 percent in November, down two tenths of a percent from the previous month.
